News: Guest Lookouts, Page 5
Penny Arcade —
With this , the fifth and final page, Lookouts comes to a close. Unless it gets optioned or something (!!!), it might be a while until we come back to it. On the other hand, with any luck at all, Automata will drop before the month is out - covering our absence during San Diego Comic-Con . We'd like to thank Becky Dreistadt and Oliver Grigsby once more for their investigation of the nascent Lookouts setting. Getting another take on it has educated us immensely, and I feel like we could really kick the shit out of a Lookouts comic right now. Of ...
DC Universe teases their comic-con exclusive poster
Massively —
... Who does this lovely face belong to? That's for you to decide as DC Universe Online teases their exclusive San Diego Comic-Con poster on their Myspace blog. The full poster, which will be given out to anyone who visits the DCUO booth at Comic-Con, hasn't been revealed just yet. However, according to bad puns placed on official blogs, we will be "clawing" to get our hands on one. Catwoman? Huntress? (We're voting for Catwoman, personally.) Either way, it looks like another iconic hero will be revealed and confirmed as ...
Details of Blizzard presence at Comic Con
WoW.com —
The schedule for the 2009 San Diego Comic Con is finally starting to emerge, and Blizzard has now confirmed details of its presence there. It looks like Blizzard is going to be running a panel on Thursday, July 23rd (the first officlal day of the con, which this year is July 23rd to 26th) with Chris Metzen and a host of people associated with Blizzard products from Upper Deck, Wildstorm, Tokyopop, and J!nx. Interestingly, Nick Carpenter, the creative director for Blizzard cinematics, is also going to be there, so it looks like this might be a ...
Dungeon Fighter Online heading to land of comics and cosplay next week
Massively —
... Nexon is taking Dungeon Fighter Online to Comic-Con next week with a preview of the game, plus contests and -- surprise -- girls dressed in game-related costumes. We had a pleasant experience with the game at E3, so if you're attending and wondering whether or not you should go, we'd recommend stopping by to play a little. Oh yeah, those girls dressed in Dungeon Fighter Online costumes? They'll be handing out discs with five bucks of Nexon cash. Additionally, Nexon will be making daily presentations at 1pm where fans can ...
Dungeon Fighter Online trailer shows classes and gameplay
Massively —
... Not going to be at Comic-Con to see the Dungeon Fighter Online preview that will be on show? Fear not, as Nexon has provided us with a new trailer for the game that gives a short introduction to its story and its five classes, as well as showing a tiny bit of gameplay at the end -- it's pretty much the perfect way to get acquainted with the game if you haven't looked into it yet. Head past the break to meet the Slayer, the Fighter, the Gunner, the Mage, and the Priest (each with their own incredibly cheesy catch phrase), all while getting ...
San Diego Comic Con 2009
Almost Evil —
This will be my 18th (I think) year going to the convention in San Diego. I anticipate as always lots of friends, books, fun, yelling, walking, and catching up. We already are booking up our meal meet-ups. ...
An early peek at the DC Universe Online storyline
Massively —
DC Universe Online is a superhero MMO in development at Sony Online Entertainment, but one that we didn't get to see much of at E3 2009. That's not going to be the situation with Comic-Con International which is happening this week in San Diego. The DC Universe Online team will be on hand and will hopefully reveal more about the game. While you won't get to play as Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman, you will begin the game as a hero who fights alongside such comic book icons. In fact, once you roll a character ...
SDCC 09: Aion demo and interview
Massively —
... Our very own Editor in Chief, Elizabeth Harper attended San Diego Comic Con this week and had a number of interesting interviews. One in particular was with the NC West Aion community team. Many things were covered, some of which you probably already know. Here's the stuff you may not have been aware of. Aion will be launching with a maximum level of 50 -- and there was a bit of vocal inflection on the word "launching." Does this mean NCsoft plans on increasing the level cap at some point in the future? Speaking of ...
SDCC 09: City of Heroes devs on the future of player-created content
Massively —
... This week marked the annual pilgrimage to Comic-Con International in San Diego for the comics and gaming faithful, and a number of superhero MMO developers were there as well to whip the fanboys (and girls) into a frenzy. When you think about it, comic conventions are as big for superhero games as other ...
Horde-centric comic launching in 2010
WoW.com —
... So much for fears of audiences not relating to "non-human" heroes. After a successful run featuring the travails of tailored-for-badassness Alliance leader Varian Wrynn, Wildstorm studios announced during the San Diego Comic Con 2009 that the World of Warcraft comic will be splitting into two titles after Issue #25. The issue will conclude the current story arc and will trigger events that will lead to the spinoff of a Horde-centric World of Warcraft comic slated to launch in January, 2010. Although BlizzPlanet reports that there ...
Comic-Con Thoughts
Almost Evil —
... I see these movie and TV people at Comic-Con in San Diego. The news cameras are everywhere. They don’t get it. All they are doing is breathing my air, taking up my room, and using up my space. ...
