Another One Bites The Dust
Channel Massive — I saw this bit of info while trolling Michael and Scott’s blogs.   Another MMO bites the dust. Tabula Rasa’s time of death is officially called at February 28, 2009.  At least NCSoft is trying to soften the blow with some decent parting gifts for those still subscribed to the doomed game. My recommendation to those who are looking for a new virtual home is to put those free three months of City of Heroes to good use.  It’s still a decent game. Random Battle — ... The recent announcement that Tabula Rasa is shutting down has me thinking about the success rates of mainstream MMOGs. Why do certain MMOGs fail where others succeed? I don’t think it’s as simple as “the market is saturated” or “no one can compete against WoW.” If anything, those statements just show a lack of imagination on the part of the speaker.
